Cylindrical tug fender
Cylindrical rubber fenders are usually used as the main fender system mounted on the bow or stern of tugboats. This is now the most popular type of tug fender. Usually the longitudinal support chain runs down the center of the fender and is supported by straps and chains mounted in grooves. Dimensions vary according to container size. These fenders are used to propel flared hulls and are flexible in shape for ship-to-ship (STS) operations on different types of ships in high seas conditions.Keyhole Fender
A fender is also known as a cube boat bumper. Due to the balanced groove surface, mainly because of their strong grip. This conventionally shaped fender has a larger contact surface that reduces hull pressure, making it more suitable for heavy duty applications. An optional UHMW-PE side is available in most cases.
Therefore, tugboats operating in high wave and storm conditions prefer to use bulkhead in most cases.
M - fender
The M-Fenders are installed on the bow and stern sections of the tugboat to protect the ship from damage during operation. The fender's large and flexible surface area minimizes the pressure acting on the vessel during push-pull operations and can be installed around narrow curves. Similar to the fender, the grooved surface of the M-shaped Marine bumper provides additional grip, while the triple "legs" act as a firm attachment to the ship.
The M-shaped rubber fender has a relatively low weight, a property that contributes to better tugboat stability. The M-shape is one of the most popular rubber fenders due to its heavy duty design and strong attachments.
W - fender
The W-fender is designed to be extremely durable, even under the most extreme operating conditions. It is definitely one of the most commonly used tugboat bumpers today. Fenders can be installed around the curves of most hull shapes to effectively buffer the collision between the dock and the ship. Tensile strength can be highly customized according to customer requirements.
Ocean-going tugboats and large port tugboats are the most common applications for W-fenders.
